These are the terms for using TakeOne, a screen recorder for product demos made by Abyssinia Labs LLC. By signing in you agree to them.
The service
TakeOne records your screen, camera and microphone in your browser, lets you trim and edit the take, and shares it by link. It also offers an API, an MCP server hosted on MCPCloud, webhooks, and a beacon script for your own apps. It is offered as is, in active development, and may change; we will say so when a change removes something you rely on.
Your account
You sign in with a Google or Apple account and are responsible for what happens under it, including what agents and scripts do with the tokens and connections you create. Revoke a token or disconnect an app as soon as you think it has leaked.
Your recordings
What you record is yours. You give us only the permission needed to store it, turn it into the files you ask for, show it to the people you share it with, and keep it safe. You can download your files and delete a recording at any time.
Recording other people
Only record people, screens and conversations you have the right to record, and get consent where the law asks for it. Keep passwords, payment details and other people’s private information out of any take you share.
What not to do
Do not use TakeOne to store or share content that is illegal, that you have no right to, or that harms others; do not attack the service or other people’s recordings; do not use the API to overload it. We may suspend an account that does.
Plans and payment
TakeOne has a free plan and two paid plans, Starter and Pro, with the limits and prices shown under Pricing on the front page. The free plan needs no card. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, in US dollars, through Stripe, and renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You are responsible for any taxes that apply; where we must collect tax, it is shown before you pay.
Moving up to a bigger plan takes effect at once, and you pay the prorated difference for the rest of the period. Moving down takes effect at the end of the period. We may change a plan’s price with at least 30 days’ notice; the new price applies from your first renewal after that.
If a payment fails, your plan keeps working for 7 days while you update your payment details. After that, new recordings and publishing with no tab open pause until the payment goes through, and an account that stays unpaid moves to the free plan’s limits. Billing never deletes a recording.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from Billing in TakeOne, or by writing to us. The plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and then does not renew. Your recordings stay, and the free plan’s limits apply from then on.
Payments are non-refundable, including for the unused part of a period, except where the law requires a refund. If you believe you were charged in error, write to us within 30 days of the charge and we will refund a mistaken charge.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the service up and your recordings safe, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every recording can be recovered. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any loss arising from the service is limited to what you have paid for it in the 12 months before the claim, which for a free account is nothing.
Ending
You can stop at any time by cancelling a paid plan, deleting your recordings, or asking us to delete your account. We may end the service or an account with notice, and will give you time to download your recordings first.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date above says when. Questions go to Abyssinia Labs LLC at support@takeone.dev.
